This video was recorded in Komstad, a small village in Österlen, in the south of Sweden. The house was built in 1925 by Katharina, who grew up on the family farm next door. The new owner, Christina fell in love with the house and its very special atmosphere. She had planned to sand the floors and paint the walls white.

But the renovations were suddenly put on hold when Christina began to peel away the wallpaper. Underneath she found even older wallpaper that breathed about the past. She took away the carpet in the living room and found a historical treasure trove.

When the house was first built, newspapers had been used as insulation between the wooden floor and the carpet, and a lot of what happened in 1925 was preserved.
